Where is this going to happen?

That’s a good question, and one we’re working on. We don’t want a church, and we don’t want a school. We do want a place that’s easily accessible in town, that would be secure, that comes with a PA system, that has a big space and little spaces and that’s pretty much free to use. When is this going to happen?

We’re aiming for September 2020, probably on Tuesday evenings, 7pm-9pm. We’ll try and confirm all the details by the end of March.

How much is it going to cost?

We think about £6400 in the first academic year. We won’t be charging anyone to come and we’re not charging churches to be a part of it. For a full breakdown of the costs, you’ll find a document on our “All the Details” page. Section 3, item 4.5.

Who’s involved?

Broughton Church, Church on Berryfields, Church of the Holy Spirit, Granville Street Church, Holy Trinity, Oaks Community Church, Southcourt Baptist, St Peter’s Aylesbury and Aylesbury Vineyard. We’ve estimated that it’ll start with about 80 young people. But if all the young people come who are connected to these churches (at the moment), we could have as many as 170. Plus leaders and volunteers.

How can we do this when we’ve got our other mid-week youth groups?

For the churches we’ve mentioned above, we’re suggesting that those other mid-week youth groups end and are replaced by Central Cell. This would mean that the youth leaders across the churches can work as one team, with and for each other, and we can nurture relationships between the young people across Aylesbury.

What does this mean for Sunday mornings?

We’ll be encouraging every young person who goes to Central Cell to be with their own church families on Sunday mornings, just as they would be if they had cell groups in their own churches.
