On Saturday 25th September (9:30am-9pm) and Sunday 26th (2pm-9pm) at Aylesbury Vineyard Church, Aylesbury Vale Youth For Christ and the Youth Leaders Network are delighted to relaunch the new academic year of youth ministry with the RISC Conference, which stands for Re-Igniting Schools for Christ.
This conference will feature some incredible speakers to encourage and equip our 11-18 year olds on how to navigate the immense challenges of being a public Christian, at school and with their peers. Topics covered include how we can know God is real, how we can trust the Bible, answering the challenging questions of our day, how to grow as a Christian under the tough conditions of youth, running Christian groups and mission in school, how to do conversational evangelism, and leading ministry in school.

Dr Max Baker-Hytch who is a professor of philosophy and theology on faculty at Oxford University. He was also recently a part of Premier Christian Radio’s Unbelievable series “The Big Conversation” in debate with Alex O’Conner, The Cosmic Skeptic.

Simon Edwards is from the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics, a global hub for training in Christian apologetics for students from all over the world. His recent book The Sanity of Belief: why faith makes sense is an outstanding and informative resource in how Christianity makes sense today in the light of the criticisms of culture. He is a cheerful Aussie who loves speaking to teenagers. Two years ago he debated the head of the British Humanist Association and is a regular speaker at New Wine, Spring Harvest and other conferences all over the world.

Aaron Griffin has been in youth ministry his whole working life, formerly in Southampton and now in Essex and is a passionate communicator of the gospel to young people. He runs an excellent youtube programme in walking young people through the Bible and the core Christian beliefs. His love of Jesus and of teenagers is infectious.

The conference is open to all 11-18 year olds and youth leaders, ministers and church volunteers. 18 year olds who are about to head off to university are also welcome to book.
